This past October, we made our dream journey to Italy for the first time. There, we met my sister Jessica (who was stationed at Aviano Air Force Base), my other sister Julia (who was studying abroad in Spain), and my Tia & Tio (who recently moved to Germany). We spent days and nights traveling and eating and dancing and singing and drinking and kissing and hugging and feeling. We most importantly gave ourselves the very special gift of all being together for the one year anniversary of my Dad’s passing. Out of the ten days we were there, I carried my camera with me only twice. Often when I travel, I try to give myself permission to be “fully there.” We were so very grateful for the opportunity to experience the old world, and to remember what it means to truly slow down—something my daddy knew & practiced so well.
